Freemasons Join Groundbreaking Mental Health Initiative

Freemasons WA is proud to support a pioneering mental health project in collaboration with the Masonic Care Alliance. This innovative initiative, the first of its kind in Australia, is now entering a critical phase, and we are inviting our members to take an active role.

The project focuses on addressing the pressing issue of men’s mental health, a concern that deeply impacts our fraternal organisations and the wider community. In Western Australia, approximately 400 suicides occur annually, with three out of every four being men.

To help combat this, we are seeking 50 volunteer Freemasons from our membership to participate in this research project and undergo specialised suicide prevention training. This training is specifically designed to equip our members with the skills needed to support their fellow Brethren and extend that support to the broader community.

By participating, Freemasons WA contributes to building a stronger, more supportive network within our fraternity, capable of recognising when our brothers are in need and providing the vital assistance required during challenging times.

We encourage all members and non-members to learn more about this important initiative in this short video.
