Celebrating Excellence: Ben Healy wins at Youth Awards

In a remarkable display of Community Service, Ben Healy has been recognised with the distinguished Masonic Care WA/Freemasons WA Community Service and Volunteering Award at the 2023 7NEWS Western Australian Young Achiever Awards.

Ben was acknowledged for his significant work as founder of Give Write, which recycles, repackages, and redistributes new and gently used school stationery to disadvantaged children across Western Australia. By the end of 2022, Give Write had gifted close to 10,000 packs to children in need. Ben’s dedication extends to personally delivering and collecting donations, conducting educational presentations, and managing the Free Teachers’ Store for educators visiting Give Write.

The gala awards ceremony, hosted by 7NEWS, was held on May 26th at Pan Pacific Perth. Rory Campbell, 7NEWS presenter, provided MC duties in front of an inspired audience of more than 330 attendees.

A total of 36 commendable finalists were recognised during the event, with nine category winners eventually revealed. We extend our deepest admiration and respect to our category finalists Drisana Levitzke-Gray, Lucy Stronach, and Tara Lord; their commendable commitment and contributions to their communities have not gone unnoticed, and we wish them the best in their future endeavours.
