Key Points
- The Grand Master thanked:
- all brethren for the faith and trust reposed they have place in him and reiterated that together Freemasons can build a bright and happy future for Freemasonry in WA.
- all those associated with the Grand Installation.
- A revised version of the Lodge COVID-19 Safety Policy and Procedure has been published in the members section of the Freemasons WA website.
- The plan has been updated to reflect that Lodges will be operating in one of two ways:
- Continue as we are (BAU activities)
- In a ‘lockdown’ environment
- The Grand Master restated the Immediate Past Grand Master’s position that in respect of COVID-19, WA Freemasons must comply with whatever direction is issued by the State Government from time to time.
- It follows therefore that if the State Government requires members of the community to be vaccinated, then this equally applies to Freemasons noting that there may be circumstances where this may not be the case (for example underlaying medical conditions).
- As a part of this requirement, the Grand Master will be writing to all Active Grand Lodge Officers in the 2021-22 Grand Lodge Team advising that they will be required to be single vaccinated by 1 January 2022 and double vaccinated by 1 March 2022.
- More generally, the Grand Master urges and makes a strong request for all Freemasons in WA to be vaccinated for COVID-19.
